Yes We Can

Sinceramente non ricordo alle scorse elezioni una così grande attenzione verso le primarie degli Stati Uniti. Sarà la sfiducia nei nostri governanti, sarà la globalizzazione che rende il presidente americano sempre più cruciale per i destini del mondo, sarà il voler guardare il verde giardino del vicino, sarà che molto di ciò che leggo online viene dagli Stati Uniti e quindi parla di elezioni, sarà quel che sarà ma anche questo blog è stato colpito dalla febbre delle Primarie.

Martedì non è un martedì qualunque, è il super martedì ovvero il giorno dove nella maggior parte degli stati dell’unione si svolgeranno le primarie, ed è quindi il giorno dove di fatto si decideranno i candidati alle prossime presidenziali.

Quindi sono appena in tempo per dare il mio endorsement!

Cominciamo con il dire che sono per i Democratici.

Leggo sul New York Time un divertente pezzo che, rifacendosi ad uno dei più celebri spot dello scorso anno, compara lo stile della comunicazione dei due principali candidati affermando “Obama è un Mac e Clinton è un PC”: in questa comparazione io starei per la terza via, Linux. Il linux dei democratici secondo me è John Edwards. Questo candidato mi ha colpito in un modo banale: è stato il primo ad usare Twitter
Detto questo, ho visto un po’ sia la sua storia personale, sia le sue visioni politiche e mi sono trovato d’accordo sulla maggior parte dei punti.

Purtroppo Edwards si è ritirato dalla corsa in seguito ai primi risultati deludenti, e per giunta non ha apertamente appoggiato nessun altro candidato.

La mia seconda scelta quindi è ricaduta su Barack Obama

Obama mi ha colpito per le sue doti di comunicatore, in particolare per il suo discorso dopo la sconfitta in New Hampshire (Video).

Eccone i passi salienti

And so tomorrow, as we take this campaign South and West; as we learn that the struggles of the textile worker in Spartanburg are not so different than the plight of the dishwasher in Las Vegas; that the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in America’s story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea
Yes. We. Can.

da questa canzone è stato tratto una canzone e un video virale diretto dal figlio di Bob Dylan e pieno di star che sta facendo il giro di internet.
E la lista delle personalità sognatrici che supportano Obama sembra infinita solo tra gli attori possiamo trovare tra gli altri Ben Affleck, Halle Berry, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Eddie Murphy e Leonard Nimoy oltre che una nutrita schiera di Kennedy.

Quindi, condividendo gran parte del suo programma politico, per quello che conta anche io supporto Obama!
